"REASONABLE" means Rationale, "RATIONALE" equals to SCIENTIFIC.
In the Indian constitutional domain, "reasonable" clearly means rationale, which in turn means scientific, not based on superstitions, individual or community belief, but, what can be found true by scientific method such as, interpretation based on data analysis, Statistics etc. I.e. some real figures. Religion has been discarded more than once in the Indian Constitution as a basis for any course of action, be it, that of the legislative, executive or the judiciary. Unfortunately more than once India as a nation had witnessed, recently, that religion superseded all other evidences(Ayodhya-Babri case verdict from supreme court). We have instances in the constitution , besides the preamble in which "Equality" Stands as one of the pillars of the whole constitutional framework, and which is why time and again it has been called by the Supreme Court of India as part of the "fundamental structure", with Liberty, Fraternity, and Justice as three other foundational values. In the Directive principles of state, the enshrined value is very explicitly present, it says, it is the duty of the state to promote among its citizens scientific temperament, which in the case of CAB government apparently is reluctant to adhere to, or had clearly shown a will to defy.In the violent protests in Assam against CAB, it clearly, indicates, the bill has transmitted a wrong signal to the masses, because the bill made the " Religious persecution " as the basis for granting citizenship. It potentially can change the demographics of any given area by arbitrarily injecting and establishing a specific kind of population into the indigenous communities. The bill in this way becomes selective and discriminatory. This is the reason now why natives of the NE-states of India has stood against this new bill(eventually to become law soon, as when and if president gives his signature) and the argument is same as kashmiris say, the protest is to protect their land, people and culture.Once the demographics changes, electoral politics will become relatively more Manageable in these remote lands gradually it will be possible to identify and extract anti-bjp elements and selectively and gradually will be weeded out either by govt with a popular support in the region or to left with a choice to live in an environment apprehensive of mob-violence. In order to fulfill its long-cherised idea of Hindu-rashtra, the RSS has cleverly used its political wing BJP, this time around since the party on it's own stands a clear majority in numbers of MPs in the lower house and with a significant number in the upper house. The present dispensation has used constitutional provisions each time in the synthesis of a new narrative , which is very case specific, in creating a vicious new-normal. During the Triple talak bill debate, the govt. Said it intends to protect the rights of the Indian Muslim women, and GOI did that by painting all Muslim men as Prophets and practitioners of misogyny, as if all other religious community have men who gives half the population, fair and just treatment, thus by showing Muslim men as permanent evil beings. Witch-hunting is common and popular tool of this govt. Similarly, in the near revoking of the Article 370 Kashmiris were painted as "Stone-pelters", and govt claimed it is in interest of the valley as it would bring peace and prosperity, rights of the Kashmiri women will be protected. Where the fact of the matter today is that there are at least four to five thousand political prisoners from the valley (mostly youth) in prisons across India. No kashmiri women will accept or rejoice ( or for that matter any Muslim or non-muslim women ) if any law largely victimizes communitie's men. In all these cases we see, witch hunting, painting some people as evil was a mandatory tool to propagate a popular narrative justifying, government's move. " Equality of status" Means as citizens of this country there is no privilege based on birth, caste, creed, gender, race etc, so it neither grants privilege nor it supports the idea of being selective on these aforementioned grounds. "Equality of opportunity" Means to take affirmative action by the state to protect and provide justly platforms and environment of dignified living and livelihood to weaker sections of the society. We may or may not have had kept the word "secular " In our constitution, nonetheless it is still, by default secular, as it guarantees liberty of choice, which includes faith and its practice by an individual, so by making an amendment to insert the word "secular" We only reaffirmed/ said it one more time that we are committed to make our country, a land for the people of all faith. We just made explicit what was already there implicitly inscribed in the holiest of all our books, that is constitution of India. Courtesy, Dr. Ambedkar and members of the drafting committee.
